Itinerary

Stop 1

Tsurumi Station on the Keihin-Tohoku Line. About 30 minutes by train from Tokyo. This is the departure and return station for the tour.

Stop 2

Kokudo Station on the Tsurumi Line preserves a strong nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. The unmanned station features old wooden structures, dim lighting, and vintage signage, evoking the feeling of stepping back into 1930s Japan. Visitors often remark on its quiet, almost timeless ambiance reminiscent of a bygone era.

Ogimachi Station is the quiet terminus of the Tsurumi Line in Kawasaki, surrounded by canals and factories. It has one platform and serves both passenger and freight trains.

Asano Station is a junction on the Tsurumi Line in Yokohama, where the main line to Ogimachi and the branch line to Umishibaura diverge. It has three platforms and a spacious layout, despite being unmanned.

Umishibaura Station is a rare station where passengers cannot exit beyond the ticket gates, as it is located inside Toshiba’s private factory grounds. Only Toshiba employees can leave the station, making it a unique “locked-in” terminal. Despite this, visitors come to enjoy the stunning waterfront views and the adjacent Umishiba Park, which is open to the public. This unusual restriction makes Umishibaura Station a fascinating and much-photographed spot.
