This easy/intermediate journey starts in Lucca and follows secondary country roads all around the Monti Pisani. Cycle down 33 kilometers of dirt and asphalt roads with a trekking bike or an e-bike. Bikes are fitted with a phone holder, making it easy to follow the GPS directions on the application. The journey to Pisa takes between 2 to 4 hours. After approximately 20 kilometers, stop at San Giuliano Terme for a refreshing drink in the charming central square in front of the Spa. Once we arrive at the Visitor Center of the Acquerino Nature Reserve we will give a brief illustration of the territory, the route and the correct use of mountain bikes. Wearing the helmets we are ready to start the excursion aboard our MTBs among paths and dirt roads, surrounded by ancient trees, and with a little luck we will be able to see the very rich local fauna which includes deer and roe deer among other things. For lunch time we will arrive in an area of wide meadows and centuries-old beech trees, where we can eat packed or take advantage of the excellent traditional recipes of the adjacent farmhouse (own production of cheeses and ricotta). A little relaxation and then our excursion will end again at the Visitor Center.

Starting from our shop, you will follow our GoogleMaps itinerary to pass underneath the Neoclassical acqueduct and through the lush scenery of Compitese, an area famous for it's olive oil and natural landscapes. Arriving then at the winery, the hosts will prepare for you a picturesque picnic set by the shade of the olive groves. Local cheeses and cold cuts, "giardiniera" style pickled veggies and other Tuscan classics (like bruschetta) will be paired with the wines of the property, in a series of simple pleasures that go a long way. Please note that the picnic has to be paid on the spot and is not included in the price. After lunch you'll continue down the road and over the mountain to arrive at a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Massaciuccoli Lake, before heading back.
